FAQ

Dental implants are bone supported where as dental bridge procedure requires support of adjacent teeth. Size of adjacent teeth are reduced. Dental bridges are tooth supported. How ever durability of dental implant is comparatively more then dental bridges.

  • After a detailed planning phase which involves diagnostics, impressions, x-ray and CT-scan,the surgical team digitally plans the placement of the future implant on the computer.
  • This enables us to provide the outcome of planned procedure in precised manner.
  • Procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, painless procedure similar to tooth removal and sequential drilling with titanium equipments.
  • In some cases immediate implant placement is done after tooth extraction.
  • Coming to crown placement immediate temporary crowns can also be given for anterior cases for aesthetic purposes.
  • Permanent crowns are placed only after 2-3 months of implant placement because implants take quit long time to fuse with bone and proper healing to take place.

  • Missing teeth causes difficulty in chewing.
  • Missing teeth can make your face look older and wrinkled with shrunken cheeks because of sagging muscles which no longer can support your lips & cheeks
  • Adjacent teeth may tilt into the empty space.

  • Failure rate of implant is very rare predicting about 5% to 8% of cases.
  • Systemic conditions like uncontrolled blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes, bone disease, hepatitis B.
  • Local factors like chronic smokers shows higher incidence of implant failures.
  • Host response like maintaining improper oral hygiene, habits of pan chewing, chewing etc,.

  • Certain cases there will be minimum bone density for implant placement so in those cases grafts are recommended.
  • Mostly in anteriors cases grafts are needed.
  • Variety of grafting materials are available for uses in dentistry.
  • Autogenous bone is most widely used.

  • Almost anyone who is missing a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth are candidates for dental implants.
  • Whose systemic conditions are good and bone density , width is more adequate enough.
